💬 Chat on WhatsAppThe answer, based on Chandigarh University’s currently published CUCET rules, is yes, students can appear in multiple phases of CUCET. The official CUCET FAQ states that candidates can appear in multiple phases, including CUCET-I and CUCET-II, and that two attempts per phase are allowed. The FAQ also states that candidates appearing in multiple phases can have their best score considered for scholarship purposes.
However, the complete CUCET 2027 dates, scholarship slabs and other admission rules should be checked against the official 2027 notification when Chandigarh University releases them. The 2026 admission cycle had two major phases, but dates and scholarship benefits can change from one admission year to another.
Quick Answer: Yes. Under the currently published CUCET rules, students can appear in multiple CUCET phases, and the official FAQ states that two attempts per phase are allowed. If a student appears in multiple phases, the best score is considered for scholarship purposes. For CUCET 2027, students should confirm the final attempt rules once the official 2027 notification is released.
What Is CUCET 2027?
CUCET stands for Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test. It is conducted by Chandigarh University for admission and scholarship purposes. Depending on the programme, CUCET can be used as an entrance/eligibility test and can also provide students with an opportunity to qualify for merit-based scholarships.
Chandigarh University’s official information describes CUCET as a merit-based scholarship-cum-entrance examination. For the 2026 cycle, the university stated that CUCET was mandatory for several programmes, including Engineering, MBA, Pharmacy, MCA, LLM and Integrated Law, while scholarship opportunities were available across programmes subject to the applicable rules.
For 2027 admissions, students should check the programme-specific admission requirements because CUCET requirements can differ depending on the course.
Can We Give CUCET Two Times in 2027?
Yes, based on the currently published CUCET policy, a student can appear for CUCET more than once.
Chandigarh University’s official CUCET FAQ specifically states that students can appear in multiple phases of CUCET and that two attempts per phase are allowed. The FAQ also explains that a candidate can appear in the next attempt/phase by paying the applicable additional fee.
This means students should not automatically assume that their first CUCET attempt is their only opportunity. Multiple attempts can provide another opportunity to improve performance and potentially qualify for a different scholarship slab, subject to the rules applicable to the relevant admission phase. Can We Give CUCET Two Times in 2027?
How Many Times Can You Give CUCET?
This is where students often get confused.
The official FAQ does not simply describe CUCET as a one-time examination. It states that candidates can appear in multiple phases and that two attempts per phase are allowed.
Therefore, the number of opportunities can depend on the phase structure and rules applicable to the admission cycle.

| Can I appear in multiple phases? | Yes |
| Are two attempts allowed per phase? | Yes, according to the official FAQ |
| Can another attempt improve my scholarship? | It can, depending on the applicable scholarship rules |
| Which score is considered if I appear multiple times? | The best score is considered for scholarship purposes under the published FAQ |
| Are CUCET 2027 dates confirmed? | Not in the official sources checked for this article |
CUCET Phase-I and Phase-II: What Does It Mean?
CUCET has been organised in different phases during recent admission cycles. For example, Chandigarh University’s 2026 admission information listed CUCET Phase-I and CUCET Phase-II. Phase-I was shown as running from October 2025 to June 2026, while Phase-II was shown from July 2026 until the end of admission. Can We Give CUCET Two Times in 2027?
The university also stated that the scholarship slabs could differ between phases.
This is important because appearing earlier may have different scholarship conditions from appearing in a later phase. Students planning for CUCET 2027 should therefore not look only at the number of attempts. They should also check:
- Phase-I registration dates
- Phase-II registration dates
- Number of attempts permitted
- Additional attempt fee
- Scholarship slabs
- Programme-specific eligibility
- Last date of admission
Can I Give CUCET in Both Phase 1 and Phase 2?
Yes, the currently published CUCET FAQ says that students can appear in multiple phases.
The official FAQ specifically mentions CUCET-I and CUCET-II and says that students can appear in multiple phases for eligibility for a higher percentage of scholarship.
For example, a student may take an examination during an earlier phase and then decide to appear again during a later phase if the applicable rules permit it.
However, students should understand that the scholarship percentage is not automatically increased simply because they take the examination twice. The actual scholarship depends on the score and the scholarship slab applicable to the phase and programme.
Does Giving CUCET Twice Increase Scholarship?
It can provide another opportunity to improve the scholarship score, but there is no guarantee that a second attempt will result in a higher scholarship.

💬 Chat on WhatsAppAccording to Chandigarh University’s official CUCET FAQ, if a student appears in multiple phases, the best score is considered for scholarship purposes. Can We Give CUCET Two Times in 2027?
For example:
| Attempt | Score | Possible Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| First attempt | 68 | Score recorded |
| Second attempt | 82 | Higher score |
| Scholarship consideration | 82 | Best score considered under current published FAQ |
This is only an example. The actual scholarship percentage depends on the official scholarship structure applicable to the relevant admission cycle.
What If My Second CUCET Score Is Lower?
Students often worry that attempting CUCET again could reduce their scholarship if they score lower the second time.
Chandigarh University’s published FAQ says that when a candidate appears in multiple phases, the best score is considered for scholarship purposes.
For example, suppose a student obtains:
- Attempt 1: 78 marks
- Attempt 2: 65 marks
Under the currently published FAQ, the best score would be considered for scholarship purposes. Nevertheless, students should verify the applicable 2027 terms before relying on this for their admission decision. Can We Give CUCET Two Times in 2027?
CUCET 2027 Scholarship: How Does the Score Matter?
CUCET performance can be important for students seeking merit-based scholarships at Chandigarh University.
For the 2026 admission cycle, the university published different scholarship slabs for Phase-I and Phase-II. For example, a score above 90.01 was listed with a 100% scholarship in both phases, while several lower score bands had different scholarship percentages depending on the phase.
Because scholarship slabs may be revised for 2027, students should not treat the 2026 percentages as confirmed 2027 percentages.
Important: The scholarship figures published for 2026 should be used only as a reference. Always check the official Chandigarh University CUCET 2027 notification for the final scholarship slabs.
Can I Take CUCET Again to Improve My Marks?
Yes. The current official policy provides multiple opportunities through its phase and attempt structure.
Taking another attempt can be useful if:
- Your first score is lower than expected.
- You want to improve your scholarship eligibility.
- You were not sufficiently prepared for the first attempt.
- You made avoidable mistakes during the first examination.
- You have improved your preparation after the first attempt.
- You want another opportunity before the relevant admission deadline.
However, attempting again should be combined with better preparation. Simply registering for another attempt does not guarantee a better result.
How to Improve Your CUCET Score in the Second Attempt
1. Analyse Your First Attempt
Start by identifying where you lost marks or time. Check whether the problem was conceptual knowledge, calculation, reading speed, time management or unfamiliarity with the question format.
2. Prepare a Short Revision Plan
If your second attempt is close, do not try to learn every topic from the beginning. Focus on important concepts, weak chapters and frequently practised question types.
3. Practise Mock Tests
Mock tests can help you understand how quickly you solve questions. Try to simulate the actual examination environment instead of solving every practice question casually.
4. Improve Time Management
Divide your available examination time according to the sections and your strengths. Avoid spending too much time on a single difficult question.
5. Revise Instead of Starting Everything Again
For a second attempt, targeted revision is often more useful than restarting your entire preparation. Concentrate on the areas where your previous performance was weak.
CUCET 2027 Eligibility
Eligibility depends on the programme you are applying for.
For the 2026 cycle, Chandigarh University’s published career guide stated that UG applicants generally needed 50% or more in 10+2, or could be students appearing for 10+2 from a recognised board. For PG programmes, the guide stated a 50% or higher graduation requirement. Can We Give CUCET Two Times in 2027?
For CUCET 2027, students should check the official programme-specific eligibility requirements because the required qualification can vary by course.
Is CUCET Mandatory for Every Course?
No blanket statement should be made that CUCET is mandatory for every programme.
Chandigarh University’s published information states that CUCET is mandatory for certain programmes, while CUCET also provides scholarship opportunities across programmes subject to applicable conditions.
Therefore, before applying, students should check the admission requirements for their specific programme.
